Wow Em' This Winter

Deets: Cropped H&M black aviator bomber jacket w/ sheerling (thrifted), long, black, red and tan aztec print maxi cover up (thrifted), worn layered over a black ribbed turtleneck, paired with camel riding leggings with leather panels (from Forever 21), red cage peeptoe booties (Charlotte Russe)

Deets: Chocolate brown corduroy paperboy cap from Claire's, denim button up top and wool herringbone skirt thrifted and Hot Kiss over the knee riding boots. Please note, it was a little warmer this day so I did not feel the tights were necessary, but you can always add a pair of thick tights if you see fit.

Hello chickadees! I hope everyone enjoyed their friends and family over the past few days! Being from Arizona, I didn't get too many opportunities to appreciate winter wear. Of course I know I know I know the priority is to be warm (blah). Who says you cannot be warm and cute?! This week, I want to give you a few tips on wowing the masses with different silhouettes this winter.

LAYER, LAYER, LAYER

• Distressed jeans over funky footed tights, long Johns or thick printed leggings.

• Kimono or chunky sweater over a jumpsuit

• Try a long maxi or cover up layered over a sweater dress

Deets: Forest green and black long maxi top on clearance at Target, thick forest green sweater dress from Forever 21 (ironically, I've probably had it since I was 21 lol), black, distressed over the knee boots from Charlotte Russe

• Wear a winter weight skirt with a denim top or a thermal, thick footed tights, knee boots and a warm hat or scarf

• Jumpsuit over leggings/long Johns or try a long sleeved top in a contrasting or monochromatic shade.

• Have a pair of shorts you can't fathom doing without for 3 months? Winterize them with layers...think tights, boots, scarves, hats, jackets, chunky sweaters!

• Sweater dress with thick Nordic leggings and knee boots or over the knee boots and a faux vest

• A cute, quick and chic go-to outfit for me is a comfy sweater worn over a button up top, liquid leggings, boots and a fun hat.

Ultimately, when dressing for a cold day I always plan my cute outfit and then how to practically and functionally layer as many pieces as possible so I will be warm. You also have to keep in mind if it's snowing or icy you will need flat, practical shoes with grip. I hope some of these tips help you take your winter wear to the next level!
